As a trained classical musician, the Tonmeister will be able to put together separate fragments of takes, according to his editing plan marked in the score during the recording, in order to recreate the optimal musical result

1. Preparation phase:

• During the recording sessions, the Tonmeister will mark his observations on the score and will draft the editing plan

2. Editing phase:

• The Tonmeister will first listen to the chosen takes from the draft editing plan made during recording and if not fully satisfied he will listen and choose other takes

• The Tonmeister will perform the editing using his highly attuned hearing, a fine score-reading ability, years of experience, well accustomed to spotting poor edits,  and a good dose of musical sensitivity

• Depending on the experience of the musicians, the editing may include tens or even hundreds of cuts

• Additional mastering (sound processing, adding reverberation, cleaning, etc.) can be performed before wrapping up the master

When recording Ensembles or Orchestras with several Cameras, in order to achieve a final Video with several angles and captures, you need Video Editing.

Today Video Editing is performed on Computers, mostly MACs, and it requires professional knowledge and artistic talent to put together sequences from several cameras at the right time musically to enhance the music with the corresponding visual experience.

Audio Mixing

When recording larger groups or Orchestras with several Microphones on a number of Channels, Mixing those Channels to Stereo requires Audio Mixing.

• Today Audio Mixing is performed on DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), which can include a limitless number of channels. Each Channel is being Leveled (Volume Intensity), PANed (L/R Balance), and possibly processed with other sound processing tools like Reverb, EQ and so on. We prefer to perform these tasks with the help of a Controller with actual Faders and Knobs and not only with a mouse.

Mastering is considered the art of sound enhancing audio recordings or mixes and is the final creative step before publishing your performances on Social Media.

• The professional mastering engineer has a fresh and objective ear, the experience and the necessary equipment to enhance recordings and mixes to obtain a good harmonic balance by correcting the tonal and loudness imbalances, thus producing a polished sounding result

• He will improve the tonal balance by equalizing (EQ), control the dynamic range by compressing and limiting, matching the level of the recordings, should they have different sources, to a well balanced and appropriate level

• We are performing the e-mastering with the same professional approach as any attended session, just taking advantage of our studio down-time, being able to provide you better Rates per mastered song, however turnaround time may possibly be longer than usual

• You can send us your Music by WeTransfer or any other upload site in Stereo WAV format, preferably 24 bit 96KHz

          (or 16 bit and 44.1KHz)
